There will come a time where there will be a network of pharmacies. This network will all carry the same name while having different branches. The big example will be the Health1 pharmacy which will be located in a Food Plus store. This will likely be the preferred pharmacy, but that is only because they will be everywhere. A pharmacy network has advantages over standalone pharmacies, however the smaller standalone pharmacies may have a more personal relationship with their patients, and they get to learn about the patient’s life, and what their needs are. A big chain will likely not have that.
A Pharmacy Network will have stores that would provide for the medicine the patient needs. However, there are some restrictions. Class 2-4 drugs can be sent within the network. This is important as if the home pharmacy does not have your prescription, but another one within their network has it, then the prescription can be sent to that particular pharmacy. However, Class 2 drugs can not be sent to another network. In order for that to be, the doctor will have to submit a prescription to the other pharmacy network for them to be allowed to fill. Class 3 and Class 4 drugs can be sent to another network for that particular prescription.
